Priority:

  • High
    • Project meets College-wide objective.
  • Medium
    • Project meets an entire academic unit's needs.
  • Low
    • Project meets the needs of a small group or department.

Sponsor:

  • All projects have sponsors - people who see a need for change and have the authority to make it happen. Without a sponsor, the project would not have been proposed. Make sure that you understand who qualifies as a sponsor and check that your sponsor has the authority to propose the project and the commitment to make it succeed. If your sponsor does not meet these requirements, you probably need to identify further sponsors who have the proper authority and commitment.

Stakeholders:

  • Stakeholders are anyone with an interest in the project. Project stakeholders are individuals who are actively involved in the project or whose interests may be affected as a result of project execution or completion. They may also exert influence over the project objectives and outcomes. The project management team must identify the stakeholders, determine their requirements and expectations, and, to the extent possible, manage their influence in relation to the requirements for assurance of a successful project.
